| Using her own unique recipes
your host, Christine, was delighted to bake her unusual
yet delicious cakes for family and
friends. Then in 2000 she created Butterflies
Tea Room, close to Canterbury in Kent, the Garden of England.
Just like the rather special recipes we use here,
Butterflies is unique, quaint and very
inviting indeed! You
will not find these delicious cakes anywhere else,
but that is not all. Our Homemade Delights are all freshly
prepared to order. Hot favourites include soups
served with crispy baguettes, oven baked filled jackets
and much more. Seasonal Specials can include, British
beef, pork casserole, home cooked gammon, fresh
local crab and English strawberries with
clotted cream.
We serve a selection of over 50
speciality teas, (including PG Tips), our
Columbian coffee is brewed in individual
cafeterias, or try our freshly squeezed orange
juice. If you're in the mood for something more
intoxicating choose from our specially chosen wines from different sources.
Firm favourites are, Vinalba Malbec – an exceptional soft red from
Patagonia, “Bigi” Orvieto Classico – an
innocent white from Umbria which makes you
merry, and, ideal for mini celebrations, Prosecco
Valdo Marca Oro - extra dry sparkling white. For
more, see our sample
menus.
Butterflies welcomes many local
regulars who have been enjoying our home made
delights for years, and we love their visits, so
during busy week ends and Bank Holidays it is
advisable to reserve a table, the last thing we wish
to do is to disappoint you.
...here to make your visit a total pleasure |
