| Christine first started
baking her deliciously unusual cakes for family and
friends, always using her own unique recipes. A
little over ten years ago she created Butterflies
Tea Room, nestling in the Garden of England, Kent,
just outside Canterbury, which as you will see on
your visit, is equally unique, quaint and very
inviting. At Butterflies
all of the delicious cakes are made by Christine
from her own recipes, you will not find them
elsewhere. Our Homemade Delights are freshly
prepared to order, favourites include, Piping Hot
Soups, Crispy Baguettes, Fresh Oven Baked Jackets,
Poached Duck Eggs, Deliciously Ripe Avocados and
Prawns, and, our ultimate snack feast, Traditional
Welsh Rarebit. Seasonal Specials include, British
Beef or Pork Casserole, Home Cooked Gammon, Fresh
Local Crab and Early English Strawberries with
Clotted Cream. We serve a selection of over 50
special Teas, or just PG Tips if you prefer, and our
Columbian coffee is freshly brewed in individual
cafeterias, or try our Freshly Squeezed Orange
Juice. If you are in the mood for something more
intoxicating choose from our very special wines,
personally chosen from several different sources, to
provide you with something a little different. Firm
favourites from our list are, Vinalba Malbec – Syrah
2008 – An exceptional soft red surprise from
Patagonia, “Bigi” Orvieto Classico 2009 – An
innocent looking white from Umbria which makes you
merry, and, ideal for mini celebrations, Prosecco
Valdo Marca Oro : Extra Dry sparkling white. Mmm,
deliciously satisfying, serious Tea Room food and
beverages, served by our delightful customer
friendly staff, there to make your visit a total
pleasure, and, not forgetting our magazines for
browsing.
Butterflies welcome many local
regulars who have been enjoying our home made
delights for years, and we love their visits, so
during busy week ends and Bank Holidays it is
advisable to reserve a table, the last thing we wish
to do is to disappoint you. |
